A huge source of frustration for designers and developers is producing a book or brochure, that loses part of an image in the centre or spine of the book.
What is our secret to this innovative idea, you ask? The way the binding is constructed, when a book is fully opened, you are presented with a full 2pp spread with a continuous surface.
The layflat binding method is achieved by having an inner ‘floating’ spine, as well as the spine of the outer cover. This spine can move freely with full flexibility.
The internal pages of the book or brochure are formed together to create a hinged spine. This allows for the artwork to seamless flow across the spread.
